Citroen DS4 will offer a four-wheel hybrid drive

Citroën has released details of a new concept design that will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. DS HIGH RIDER combines compact dimensions with generous internal volumes, dynamic performance, sophisticated style and consummate quality. Unlike traditional 4-seater coupés, with their long, low design, the DS HIGH RIDER is compact and muscular.

It is presented with 19” alloy wheels in high-tech style. DS HIGH RIDER is also a combination of automotive luxury and elegance - exemplified by its glossy golden paintwork and brushed chrome trim that accentuate the car’s flowing lines. The roof is covered with a coated textile material - a tactile feature of quality.

Offering an enjoyable driving experience with dynamic on-road performance, DS HIGH RIDER is respectful of the environment with an advanced ‘Full Hybrid’ diesel drivetrain that combines a refined HDi DPFS* engine under the bonnet with an electric motor located on the rear axle. The diesel engine drives the front wheels ensuring the car is four-wheel drive.

When it enters production as the DS4 it will get two doors more and give the Mini Countryman (a 5 doors version) run for the money. However it is just a premium version of the future C4 due to be launched later this year.

DS HIGH RIDER is taller and wider than the current C4 hatch at 1480mm and 1820mm, although it is slightly shorter than the current C4 at 4260mm. Front-end styling is shared with a smaller DS3, which just got the racing version.
